Masjid Al Haram, Husains Umrah

In Makkah, hotels are spread across different areas of the city to accommodate the large number of visitors who come for Umrah, Hajj and salah at Masjid al-Haram

Let's explore the five main areas i think its best to book a hotel:

Clock Tower area, Jabal Omar, Misfala, Ajyad, and Aziziyah.

Clock Tower area: This area is located right next to the Masjid al-Haram and is comprised of many 5-star hotels, with a few 4-star hotels as well. These hotels offer the closest proximity to the Haram, with just a 3-5 minute walk from your room to the entrance of the mosque. However, some of these hotels have been opened for over 10 years, so while they are luxurious, some rooms may appear dated.

Jabal Omar: The Jabal Omar complex is a newer development consisting of 5-star hotels and a few 4-star hotels. It takes approximately 8 minutes to reach the Haram from this area. The hotel rooms in this complex are relatively new and spacious, offering similar prices to those in the Clock Tower area.

Misfala: Located about 10-15 minutes away from the Haram, Misfala is home to hotels ranging from 2 to 4 stars. On busy days, it may take over 20 minutes to reach the Haram from this area. While Misfala offers good budget options, it's important to be cautious as some hotels in this area are quite old.

Ajyad: The Ajyad area also features a range of 3 to 4-star hotels and is only a 10-12 minute walk to the Haram. It's a convenient area to book a hotel, especially as it provides easy access to Gate 1 of the Masjid al-Haram.

Aziziyah: Aziziyah is the furthest out of the five areas, and reaching the Haram from here typically requires the use of a bus, a recently introduced Makkah bus has been great addition, or taxi, taking over 20 minutes, or even longer during busy times. This area offers a mixture of 2 to 5-star hotels and is known for being more budget-friendly.

When choosing a hotel in Makkah, it's common for to prioritize proximity to the Haram. The Clock Tower area and Jabal Omar offer the closest access, but tend to be pricier. Misfala and Ajyad provide a balance between proximity and affordability, while Aziziyah offers more budget-friendly options but requires additional transportation. Consider your preferences, budget, and the convenience you desire when selecting a hotel in Makkah.
